As we move forward into this new year, staying healthy and strong is going to be key. Jupiter in Aquarius is all about expansion through reinvention, so this is the perfect time to experiment! I know for me, Saturn and Jupiter are now transiting my 6th house from solar and I am excited for the upgrades Aquarius is going to provide there. I am already taking action on some new health and fitness urges coming up!
Energetic and physical strength is very closely tied to mental strength. Often, we need to rework our brains just as we do our body. (Check out my previous post "Finding Your Way When You Feel Lost" for even more tips on how this links to emotions.)
Without further ado, let's take a look at some of my top tips to rebuild your inner strength through exercising some mental health muscles.
💪Examine the judgements you are internalizing💪
I woke up with this download at the end of 2020 and it was so powerful I had to capture it right away. "The only one who can judge you is you." Often, we get caught up in hurt and blame for what others do (and don't do) to us. I know I have attracted my fair share of critical people in my own life, and it is oh so painful. Often this comes from childhood wounds, areas in which we need to self-love and self-soothe. We cannot control what people think about us, however. As much as we may stamp our feet and raise our fists and try to get them to "see it my way" we ultimately have NO control over what they will actually chose to believe and think. Its a hard lesson to swallow - as Hicks would say "what other people think of you is none of your business".
Detachment from other's personal beliefs and opinions of us frees us immensely, however. It lets us embrace more of our authentic self and thereby creative expression. When you catch yourself feeling frustrated and angry with someone judging you (or things you love / closely attached to you and thereby also you by proxy), stop and say "Ok. I cannot control them. But I can control how I let this judgement affect me. I will not perpetuate this cycle of judgement by using their opinions of me as a candle I hold to myself. I alone know myself, and I do not have to let myself be defined by them. Their perceptions of me are, in essence, none of my business."
This is also where it becomes important to catch limiting beliefs - akin to mind viruses- that you might rework to re-internalize judgement in yourself. Did your mother always pick on you about one body part and now you still shame yourself about it? Did a parent tell you that you were too skinny, too fat, too this, or too that? I once had a teacher tell me "I asked too many questions" - in math class! Can you imagine? Albert Einstein was ever the curious and ever the question asker and he went on to do very great things. (Spoiler alert: I went on to become a science major in college and did not let this teacher's negative perceptions about my abilities define me.) There is so much unhealed and fragmented and raw in other people's energy fields. Why let their version of disconnected relationship with source affect your connection with source? Train yourself with this one and you will achieve mastery.

💪Re-access an empowered version of yourself💪
I stumbled upon a funny and a bit quirky - but startlingly powerful- process with myself recently. As many of you know, I run membership groups to inspire learning and community in astrology and divination card readings. I have my Fearlessly Fairy group for tarot updates and my Astro Fairy group for astrology updates.
I've found that going back and replaying my membership content videos with the weekly updates actually motivates me to get "plugged back in". I find myself able to get up and move, tidy up my room that has been neglected, put on some makeup that is an act of self love, and more. Not only is hearing the content encouraging, but it becomes a powerful tool for me to "plug back in" to an energetic frequency of empowerment and love that I once embodied. Its like ordering your favorite menu item and feeling that rush of excitement and comfort to reaccess those positive feelings.
Now, I realize rewatching one's own YouTube videos is fairly specific to me, and that this might not be attainable for you. So consider some of these alternatives:
- Take a short video of yourself when you are feeling fab. You don't have to address yourself in the video. You can keep it third person. The intention is just to capture you in an empowered state.
-Record "before" and "after" videos just for you to witness how you can transform something. This could be something you are crafting or something you are cleaning. I learned this technique from the lovely Mrs. Hinch Home!
-Record a voice memo of yourself in a fab mood or talking about an empowering or transformational experience you went through. It could be something small and easily re-attainable too.
-If you have an iPhone, the iPhone has this beautiful ability to weave together memory videos from your photos. You can pick one to rewatch and witness yourself woven together from so many different moments. These often make me cry to be honest! We often achieve so much and don't give ourselves the credit, or appreciate those around us who helped us get there.

💪Witness yourself in written or spoken word💪
Another way to slow down the mind chatter and dial in to inner strength is through a "witnessing oneself" practice. This is different than morning or evening gratitude journaling or prayer time. In this practice, you let yourself be unfiltered and raw. You can do this on a simple Google Doc or dedicate a specific journal to it. You can even do this on a voice memo. I have tried all three - I particularly liked the Google Doc format for this as I am a hardcore journaler as is, and that helped me segment out this task as different than my usual journal style.
Jot down the date, then simply vent. Type, talk, or write out all your musings and feelings, frustrations, mysteries, and wonders. It really becomes like catharsis. At a later date or time, then, go back and re-witness yourself. Any patterns you notice? Any areas you have had aha moments in since? Any obsessions you had that are no longer important to you? Perhaps set up a "vent schedule" to do this one regularly - 3 to 4 times a week for 30 days is a good place to start.
The trick with this one is to regularly do the catharsis and then go back and rewitness. You want to use this as a venting tool but also a self reflection tool. Perhaps you might find you were onto something great - a new idea birthing itself perhaps. Or, perhaps you see how you were harping on something that is really no longer significant, and you can recall that the next time that urge strikes. Its like having a mini Snow White mirror that talks back to you, only its much more advanced than "the fairest one of all".
