Fairy Foodie Feature: Blackberry Melon Bowl
Updated: Dec 22, 2019
Continuing the theme of my Fairy Foodie Features I wanted to share an intuitively designed dessert for you!

Dessert doesn't have to be carb overload of all the bad kinds of sweets. You know the baddies...
The cakes
The cookies
The muffins
The mints
The candies
The...
OKay, okay, okay, okay I will stop. I don't want you to derail and go find the cookie jar right now! Remember, what we focus on expands. So, instead, I want you to focus on these words...
Fresh
Fruity
Elegant
Sweet
Decadent
Savory
Palatable
Colorful
The truth of the matter is that fruits and natural sweeteners like honey or coconut sugar provide all of these emotions and tastes and more. Fruit is really where our heart chakra is at. We only crave the more heavily processed sweets because when they are readily available to us (i.e. in the fridge, on the counter, at a work luncheon) they serve our ego by "thinking" we are normalizing blood sugar levels when, in fact, our brain is really craving higher quality sugars to fuel itself. (Don't believe me? Check out Anthony Williams talk on fruit where he talks about the healing power of fruit.)
With all this in mind, I present to you this Fantastic Fairy Dessert! (You actually can eat this for breakfast, as a snack, or for dessert but I really just wanted an excuse to use the words fantastic and fairy in the same name lol.)
Ingredients:
2-3 sprigs fresh mint
6-7 blackberries
1/4 cup green melon
1/2 tsp chia seeds
Honey to drizzle*
Preparation:
1. Cut melon into 1 inch chunks
2. Rinse and dry blackberries
3. Arrange melon in bottom layer of bowl (bonus points for a clear glass bowl to enliven your chakra senses)
4. Sprinkle rinsed blackberries on top of the melon
5. Drizzle with dry chia seeds
6. Pick mint leaves off mint sprigs and scatter on top
Optional: drizzle with honey if desired (I like sustainably harvested, wildflower honey)
That's it folks! Enliven those taste buds!
