♓Ceres enters Pisces: Mother Water Ways♓

As many of you know, I am very passionate about the divine feminine and how we can give that energy more representation in our society. Through spirituality, I work with the divine feminine energy through select goddess, archangels, ascended masters, and of course...astrology!

I most recently blogged about the lovely Vesta and Juno. For this blog post, let's chat Ceres, the mother and beautifully nurturing aspect of astrology, who is changing signs into Pisces on November 9th.

Who is Ceres?

Ceres is the goddess of the harvest & mothering. She was the mother of Persephone, and her daughter was captured by Hades and brought (somewhat savagely) into the underworld. Her daughter's purity was exploited by Hades, and her mother wept for the loss of her daughter and betrayal by the underworld God.

What was Ceres story?

With the loss of her precious daughter, Ceres wept and went into a mourning. She stopped taking care of the flourishing of wheat in the fields, and in the process of her grief, they turned barren and the common people began to starve.

The other Gods decided to intervene, and negotiated a pact with Hades where Persephone could split her time in the underworld 6 months of the year and 6 months in the above/outer world 6 months of the year. This was based on the number of pomegranate seeds she ate.

In so doing, Ceres allowed the fields to flourish and thrive for half of the year, bearing forth spring and summer harvest, and then they would turn to barren and "death" the second half of the year, fall and winter when Persephone had to return to Hades.

What does Ceres teach us / offer us?

Ceres is associated with mothering and Cancer energy, as well as our personal relationships with our mothers and the energy of mothering. She also represents the cycles of grief and despair, particularly for loss in our life and all things connected to children and childhood. People with a prominently affected Ceres in their chart may struggle with childbirth, or have deep emotional wounds from their own mother. Or, they may just carry a heavy emotional attachment to the children of the world.

Interestingly, Ceres is also associated with Virgo. Because Ceres was the nurturer (Ceres literally is where we derive the word cereal from), she can also represent our relationship with food and health. Someone with a prominent positively aspected Ceres may be a champion of health and nutrition and the importance of healthy eating. For example, my Ceres is conjunct my Uranus exactly in Sagittarius in my 2nd house, and I love teaching people about healthy eating (The Fairy Foodie) as well as nurturing people (Ceres) through astrology (Uranus) - using both of them as tools to self worth and livingly happily on Earth (2nd house / Taurus energy).

How can I find her in my birth chart?

Ceres is plottable as asteroid #1. You can also explore getting an asteroid goddess reading with me! See the bottom of this blog post.

Look to the sign and house of your natal Ceres to uncover things about yourself such as:

- how you like to nurture yourself

- how you are best suited to self care

- how you were treated with your own mother

- how you yourself would like to mother others

What will Ceres in Pisces be about for all of us?

Ceres in Pisces will bring Ceres back into her natal element of water when she returns to Pisces. With her transit from Aquarius for nearly all of this year (she actually entered Pisces for some time but then retrograded back into Aquarius), she was in a bit of a detached emotional energy to her usual nature. She would have nurtured and provided "food" for the soul through collective thought, community, and technologies (Zoom calls, maybe? haha).

Now with her transit into Pisces from early November (until late February 2021) she will be back into her water element. Here in Pisces, Ceres can nurture through dreams and imagination. She can teach us that to dream is also to receive, and that through compassion, communion with spirit, and intuition we can feel nurtured, loved, and supported in our mission here on Earth.

It is a beautiful placement for Pisces and one that is greatly needed on the planet at this time. I look forward to seeing the magic it will unfold for all of us and how we can work it into our personal/individual lives.

How can I tap deeper into this loving nurturing energy in my life?

💕Listen to 432 hz music; it is the frequency of love! I love Meditative Mind on YouTube.

💕Open your heart by watching animal rescue stories. I love The Dodo on YouTube.

💕Practice telling people things like "I appreciate you.", "I love you." and "I am grateful for you" more. The more we stay in gratitude the stronger our heart chakra field becomes.

💕Work with heart chakra healing crystals like malachite and ocean jasper for loving communication.

💕Check out books for your interpersonal relationships to embody non-violent communication and holding space.

💕Encourage yourself that it is safe to cry. This actually purifies our soul and opens us up even more to love. If you need a good heart melt cry, watch this Disney clip. Its sure to make you cry, as I know it did for me!

💕Most importantly, know thyself! The more you understand what makes you, well you, and stop projecting your wounds onto other people, the more you can step more and more into the light. Choose phrases in arguments like "I witness your feelings" or "I feel ___" instead of "You make me feel ____". Also, find ways to say "I am sorry" when it is right. These three things will carry you a long way!
